Naomi Worrell Art
Mixed media Illustrator
About

I'm Naomi a 32 year old Swiss mixed media illustrator Specialising in wildlife art.
Growing up surrounded by nature and animals I loved to create little doodles of all the different species I would see in my back garden, and living in Spain there was a fair share of critters to take inspiration from. My love for animals only grew, I would rescue chicks that had fallen from our roof and hand rear them until they could fend for themselves. I Would rear fish, catch chameleons and anything else that would appear out
of the ground, bushes or trees.
After 7 years in Spain we moved to Costa Rica and this was my paradise. The concentration of wildlife the country has would be the best place to get inspired to create art. But it would be short lived. In 2009 after only a year we move back to the United Kingdom. I started college and sat a certificate in animal care, later a diploma in animal management and nursing, zoology and conservation. But ultimately it wasn't for me and so I went into illustration and successfully completed my Degree in 2016.
After my study years I would continue to create art but took on a few jobs working in retail. I was most happy being a freelance illustrator over working employed within the industry. So I set myself up to create images that people would love, including pet portraits.
I bounced around between 2016 and early 2025 with different art styles and mediums including digital art. Within this time I suffered an art identity crisis and chronic depression from missing my previous homes in the sun. However today I live in Wales with my partner, two children and our two cats and although my past still causes some trauma my mental health has improved.
I've discovered an art style I love and even became a mixed media artist that previously I'd never thought I'd venture into. Now I spend my days painting cute little animal characters that people can relate to appreciate and love just as I do.
